CCC LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE

It is our conviction that the elder governance model is the leadership form that best represents the mission of our local church and the systematic teaching of scripture.  Although Peter Dusan serves as the Lead Pastor of CCC, all major decisions pertaining to the direction and finances of the church are made as a team of unified elders.  Peter is not the “CEO Pastor,” but rather the “First Among Equals.” We feel that this is the best way to empower and protect each member and each distinct leader as we move forward in calculated steps toward fulfilling our mission.

This does not mean that each elder carries the exact same weight, or assumes the same responsibility.  Currently, Peter’s main role in our church leadership is preaching and vision.  For now, this is a part-time role, as Peter serves full-time as a campus missionary primarily.  In the future, it is within our vision to hire a full-time lead pastor, whether it be Peter or another man chosen to fulfill this role in the forward vision of our church.

We also refer to our elders as “pastors,” as the rendering of these 2 words are basically interchangeable in the Greek New Testament.  Our elders are married men that have proven in the presence of the community to exhibit the qualifications described by the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

Two other distinct levels of leadership are active in our church: Deacons, and Campus Missionaries.  Deacons are qualified men and women that serve to assist our elders in pastoral service duties.  Our campus missionaries are individuals who are overseen by Every Nation Ministries and by our elders.  They are equipped and empowered to go and make disciples on the college campus.  Although our church is a major financial supporter of each of our missionaries, these brave individuals raise their own partnership teams in order to most expediently serve the campus.
